A Shaded View on Fashion Film (ASVOFF) is the first annual festival in the world about fashion films. ASVOFF is a festival including a film selection & competition, documentaries, features and installations. Created by journalist Diane Pernet and launched in September 2008 as a three day event at the national museum of Paris, Jeu de Paume, ASVOFF which took the form of a full festival showcasing feature films, documentaries, conferences, performances and installations. Genre-bending and groundbreaking, it has already brought together such illustrious names as Chris Cunningham, Róisín Murphy, Nick Knight, Tilda Swinton, Steven Klein, Chloë Sevigny, Dita Von Teese, Bruce Weber and Ryan McGinley as well as Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Sergio Rossi, Rodarte, Givenchy, Yohji Yamamoto & Thom Browne and many others. Besides its annual festival in Paris in September, ASVOFF has other projects around the world. In the nearest future ASVOFF will be held in St. Petersburg thanks to the organization Aurora Fashion Week Russia.
